Speaker:

Li Jin is a professor of Geology at the State University of New York at Cortland, coordinator of Environmental Science program, and a State University of New York senator. She also serves as an associate editor for Water Resources Research. Professor Li Jin graduated from 黑料社 with a BS and MS in Geochemistry and earned her PhD from Syracuse University in 2008. From 2009 to 2010, she was a visiting research associate at the University of Oxford in the UK. Her research expertise lies in hydrology and aqueous geochemistry, with a focus on the impacts of climate change on water resources. She has conducted research in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America and has published over 40 journal articles and numerous conference abstracts. She has been invited to review grant proposals for the US National Science Foundation, the UK Natural Environment Resource Council and the Royal Society (UK), and is a frequent reviewer for high-impact journals in hydrological sciences. Professor Li Jin was awarded the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities in 2022 and has also received the Outstanding Achievement in Research Award and Excellence in Research, Scholarship and Outreach four times. Her current research centers around metal contamination and salinity issues in Ethiopia and Bangladesh.
