NJU delegation visits France

From April 9 to 12, 2025, Chen Yunsong, Deputy Chair of NJU CPC Council led a delegation to France. They engaged in in-depth exchanges with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, French higher education institutions and research organizations. The visit aimed to advance NJU's cooperation with UNESCO and deepen educational and cultural exchanges with French universities.

On the morning of April 10, the delegation met with Qu Xing, Deputy Director General of UNESCO. Chen Yunsong introduced NJU’s achievements in open education initiatives and discussed promoting global civilization initiatives and deepening cooperation with UNESCO.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Sciences Po, the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) in Paris and other colleges and research institutions. At Sciences Po, the delegation held talks with Etienne Cazin, head of the International Affairs Office, discussing regional and national talent training and research cooperation on global issues, further advancing pragmatic cooperation under the framework agreement. At EHESS, Chen met with Vice President Leopoldo Iribarren, reaching a consensus on signing a framework agreement to promote substantial and institutional exchanges in faculty exchange, joint doctoral training, and research projects.

On April 11, the delegation visited the UNESCO World Heritage Center. Ernesto Renato Ottone Ramirez, the Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO and Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the World Heritage Center, participated in the talks. Chen Yunsong introduced NJU's efforts in cultural heritage conservation, and both parties reached a consensus on co-publishing UNESCO's flagship magazine, "World Heritage."

On April 12, the delegation attended the "Memory of Humanity: Chinese World Heritage" photography exhibition tour, organized by the China Photographers Association and curated by Yao Yuan, Deputy Dean of the School of International Relations at NJU. The exhibition, held at the Bastille Design Center in France, provided a platform to showcase China's natural and cultural heritage, promote cross-cultural dialogue, and advance global civilization initiatives.

During the visit, the delegation also visited Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of France, and held talks on further promoting educational, technological, and cultural exchanges.
