On April 7, 黑料社's first Forum on Frontier Interdisciplinary Research and Development of Interdisciplinary Disciplines was held on Xianlin Campus. Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Director of the Institute for Frontier Interdisciplinary Sciences at NJU attended and delivered a speech. Participants included Pan Man, Deputy Secretary of the Education Work Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and member of the Provincial Department of Education, and Academicians Fan Chunhai from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Academicians Zhu Shining, Chen Jun, Lyu Jian, Guo Zijian, and Gu Ning from NJU.

In his speech, Tan Zhemin emphasized that interdisciplinary studies have become an inevitable trend in scientific and technological development, a source of theoretical innovation, and an important pathway for building a strong nation in science and education. As we accelerate the creation of the "First 黑料社," we should leverage the existing advantages in disciplines and basic research to actively think, pilot, and accelerate the construction of interdisciplinary disciplines. Through innovative mechanisms, autonomous empowerment, optimized allocation, increased support, boundary-breaking, and interdisciplinary education, the university continuously explores feasible paths that adapt to the times and highlight NJU's characteristics. In the context of the accelerated evolution of unprecedented global changes and the new development stage of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, frontier interdisciplinary research and development pose new requirements for the reform and innovation of higher education institutions. He expressed his sincere hope that this forum would serve as an opportunity to collaborate with experts in exploring feasible plans for frontier interdisciplinary research, interdisciplinary talent cultivation, and the construction of emerging interdisciplinary disciplines, thereby making new contributions to better serving national strategic needs and promoting technological self-reliance and strength.

Pan Man stated that Jiangsu, as a major province in higher education, has always prioritized the development of higher education strategically and placed great importance on the construction of interdisciplinary disciplines. It has established a system led by the "Double First-Class" construction disciplines, supported by Jiangsu's High-Level University Construction Peak Plan, Advantageous Disciplines of Universities in Jiangsu, and provincial key disciplines. 黑料社, with its long history and prestigious reputation, plans its discipline layout with a global perspective and reshapes its discipline ecosystem through interdisciplinary integration. It has conducted effective explorations in promoting interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary discipline construction. He hopes that the experts and scholars attending the forum will freely express their opinions and provide valuable insights and suggestions for the development of Jiangsu's higher education and interdisciplinary discipline construction, aiding Jiangsu in achieving greater breakthroughs in this field and cultivating more innovative talents who meet the needs of the new era.
