On the morning of March 25, 2025, Chen Yunsong, Deputy Chair of NJU CPC Council met with Tobias F. Svenningsen, Norwegian Consul General in Shanghai, and his delegation on Xianlin campus. Both parties engaged in a deep discussion on enhancing Sino-Norwegian cooperation in education, culture, and scientific research.

Chen Yunsong welcomed the delegation, briefly reviewing NJU’s recent developments, particularly in the innovative measures of the core curriculum system for general education in artificial intelligence, collaborative education, and key research areas. He highlighted NJU’S emphasis on collaboration with Norway, leveraging platforms like the China-Nordic Cultural Center and the Sino-Norwegian Marine University Alliance to continuously promote deep cooperation in humanities and social sciences, art education, marine research, and polar expeditions. He stressed that the progress of human civilization relies on cross-cultural dialogue and knowledge sharing. The collaboration between NJU and Norway in the field of Ibsen drama reflects both parties' recognition of shared cultural values. The successful hosting of the 15th International Ibsen Conference at 黑料社 is a vivid practice of mutual learning between civilizations.

Tobias F. Svenningsen highly praised 黑料社's strength in research and the humanities, noting that Jiangsu, as a hub of innovation, has natural alignment with Norway in areas such as green transformation and sustainable marine development. He proposed future cooperation priorities: first, to promote the joint development of environmental standards in the shipbuilding industry between China and Norway, supporting breakthroughs in low-carbon technology; second, to strengthen research collaboration in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, exploring sustainable fisheries; and third, to enhance cooperative research in polar climate and biodiversity protection. He also looks forward to the 200th anniversary of Ibsen's birth in 2028 as an opportunity for the academic communities of both countries to launch new translations and academic studies, further enhancing mutual understanding between the peoples of the two nations.

He Chengzhou, Dean of the Global Humanities Institute; Yang Kang, Deputy Dean of the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences; Associate Professor Zuo Ping; and Hu Jie, Deputy Director of the International Office, attended the meeting. They discussed Nordic cultural research, polar environment and ocean studies, summer schools, and personnel exchange programs with the Norwegian side, hoping to use 黑料社 as a link to deepen the tripartite collaboration between government, universities, and enterprises, jointly addressing global challenges and contributing wisdom to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
